Greetings to all GTO Members –
GTO HQ is now involved in preliminary planning for the next GTO
World Conference as well as future events.
We are seeking input from GTO Members throughout the world.
As GTO HQ has done from the beginning in 1997, we have some
conference requirements for reasons that shall be explained.
As always, safety of GTO Member delegates attending a GTO World
Conference is of utmost importance. We would not be able to entertain
any locations that have a recent or present record of unsafe conditions
due to severe political unrest or other negative circumstances. The safety of GTO Members attending such events is truly of utmost importance to GTO HQ at all times.
Suggested locations must have easy access with regard to global air
travel. While there are many spectacular locations throughout the
world that are visited on personal holidays, many are not easy to
visit with regard to air travel.
Another consideration involves economic issues. There are locations
throughout the world that would be outstanding for international
business conferences but may not be considered simply because they
rank high on the list of the most expensive cities in the world. GTO HQ
is aware of the fact we must be aware of costs for both GTO and GTO
Members.
The scheduling of GTO World Conferences is also important as weather
conditions can have an impact on attendance.
Organizing a GTO World Conference requires a great deal of effort
and they are usually more successful when they involve assistance
from a GTO Member in the host city. Therefore, we wish to have
input from GTO Members interested in hosting a future GTO World
Conference.
Last but not least, we are also seeking input and comments from all
GTO Members with regard to willingness to attend the next GTO World
Conference. We know location will be a main consideration but our
goal now is to obtain an indication of support GTO would receive
with regard to attendance
